Trailers of multiple titles in New Year and Spring Festival film seasons were shown, leading to wide anticipation within the industry

Hong Kong - December 12, 2017 -  CineAsia, a top film industry event in Asia, launched “A Focus on China Day” program yesterday, and hosted a special session with IMAX China in Hong Kong iSquare UA IMAX Cinema. Five leading domestic film companies including Wanda Pictures, Bona Film Group, Huayi Brothers, New Classics Media and Heyi Pictures all made their appearances on stage, introducing several key upcoming tentpoles and showed the trailers of those films for more than 300 guests from the Asia cinema and film industry.


The promotion session featured multiple key films in the upcoming New Year and Spring Festival film seasons, as well as one in the next summer holiday film season, including Youth, Legend of the Demon Cat, Bleeding Steel, Namiya, The Ex-File: The Return of the Exes,Duck Duck Goose Operation Red Sea, and Detective Dee The Four Heavenly Kings. Rich genres and high production standards shown in the trailers gained unanimous positive feedback and wide anticipation among the attending industry professionals. Youth, Legend of the Demon Cat, Bleeding Steel will be released in approximately500 IMAX® theatres across China during the New Year film season. Following the promotion session, the complete version of The Thousand Faces of Dunjia, produced by Hark Tsui and directed by Woo-ping Yuen, was shown in IMAX® 3D, and received overwhelmingly positive reviews from the attending film industry professionals. This film, which marks the fourth cooperation between Hark Tsui and IMAX, will be released in IMAX theatres across China on December 15th.


From its entrance to China in 2001, IMAX has been deepening the cooperation with Chinese filmmakers and studios. In 2010, the first Chinese film was released in IMAX theatres in China, and now, the number of Chinese films presented in IMAX has reached 47.
